Kelly Castle Conservation

Wellwood Leslie Chartered Architects have completed the £1.5 million renovation and interior fit-out of Kelly Castle, involving extensive works to a Grade B listed castle. The building has been re-pointed and numerous worn stone lintels replaced. A geothermal heating system was installed. Non-original linings installed after WWII were stripped back to the bare stone and reinstated incorporating insulating materials where possible. The layout was altered to create a modern family home with traditional features exposed where appropriate. The master suite on the third floor consists of a large open plan en-suite bathroom flanked by sleeping and dressing areas with purpose designed furniture throughout.
